Hollywood screenwriters went on strike

The Hollywood screenwriters walked off the job and went on strike starting at 12:01 a.m.

Screenwriters went on strike against major film and television studios on Monday. This happen after a talk had failed to make two sides to come to terms on how writers should be compensated in the age of fast progressing digital technologies, such as broadband Internet and hand-held wireless devices, that are reforming entertainment.

The primetime shows on television like NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and CBS’ “Late Show with David Letterman,” are forced into immediate reruns which is one of the initial impact of the said strike.
